Variable Speed Positioning System (V.S.P.S.)

• Increases capabilities of motorized jacks by allowing the operator to easily program up to 10 stopping locations
• Includes a 2 Line HMI display with tactile feel push buttons used to control all aspects of system operation and programming
• The display read-out indicates current position and preset stopping location. An enclosure mounted speed control dial allows real time speed control of the motorized jacks.
• The enclosure door also features an e-Stop push button and power-on indicator light to allow easy confirmation of the system's power status
• A control pendant 4-pin connector is standard on all VSPS boxes. Joyce can provide a two button pendant to allow the operator to control the system away from the control box
• The Joyce VSPS is designed to operate motors between 1/3 and 3 horsepower, and between 200 and 460 volt three phase power

Protective Bellows Boots for Screw Jacks

• Protective bellows for translating design jacks protect the screw from dust and dirt, help maintain proper lubrication, and guard against moisture and corrosive contaminants
• They are fabricated of neoprene-coated nylon
• Other materials are available for applications involving temperatures below -40°F and above 500°F, highly corrosive atmospheres and other special conditions
• Protective bellows boots for keyed for traveling nut (rotating screw) jacks can be ordered for upright and inverted models
• Bellows boots are typically mounted between the traveling nut and jack and between the mounting structure and traveling nut

Motor Mounts and Stock Motors

• For easy installation, Joyce 2, 3, 5, 10, 15 and 20 ton machine screw and ball screw jacks are available with motor mount adapters for standard NEMA C-Face motors
• Joyce motor mounts allow direct coupling of the motor shaft with either the right or left side jack input shaft
• All mounts come with necessary hardware and coupling keys. Motor mounts are available with NEMA C-Face motors
• Unless otherwise specified, all standard motors are 3 phase, 230/460 VAC, 60 Hz, 1725 rpm

Motor Starters for Motorized Screw Jacks System

• A Joyce motor starter is the heart of a basic control system for a motorized jack, actuator or ComDRIVE® system
• It includes extend and retract push-buttons for momentary operation
• A lighted power-on control lets operators easily determine if there is power to the system
• Limit switch terminal connections are provided for high, emergency high, lower and emergency low limits.
• Additional terminal connections for monitoring push-buttons and motor overload allow the Joyce motor starter to easily integrate with other control devices
• Each Joyce motor starter model is perfectly matched to motors between 1/3 and 15 horsepower, and between 200 and 575 volt, three phase power requirements
• IEC motor overload protection and a fusible disconnect guard against motor damage and short circuits
• A NEMA 12 enclosure is standard, a NEMA 4 panel is option
• Other available options include a single phase control package, multiple motor control and alternate horsepower control

Encoders for Screw Jacks

• Machine screw jack models between 2 and 150 ton capacity can be also equipped with an encoder to allow accurate position sensing within increments of .001"
• The encoder combines with your control system to monitor screw travel, number of revolutions and travel limits
• Joyce's shaft-mounted encoder offers easy installation, proven reliability and virtually maintenance-free operation
• It includes a six-pin electrical connector, worm shaft coupling and mounting adapter.
• Standard encoders are 200 pulses per revolution.

Limit Switches on Screw Jacks and Actuators

• Rugged Joyce limit switches allow you to set precise travel limits and stops on Joyce screw jacks and actuators.
• They are also ideal in any application where rotary motion of a machine component can be used to indicate linear motion of another part

Joyce Trunnions

• Joyce trunnions are used in installations where the jack moves through an arc during operation
• These jacks are often configured with motor mounts or as ComDRIVES
• Trunnion adapter plates bolt to the jack flange and have precision bores for trunnion pins

Joyce Geared Potentiometers

• Joyce geared potentiometers are ideal for applications where precise position must be known
• Using a 10-turn potentiometer, a signal is provided as either a change in resistance or current (when supplied with a 4-20ma instrument transformer) which is proportional to the actual position of the screw
• This signal is commonly used for applications where PLCs or computer control jacks
• Geared potentiometers are available on worm gear design jacks of 2-150 ton capacity
